Transparency in access to information


Pursuant to the Amiri Decree no. (6) of 2015, of the re-organization of the Administrative of Control and Transparency Authority, ACTA proposed the legislation to prevent and combat corruption, taking into account the standards and requirements set out in the convention. ACTA examined the legal framework for transparency and access to information in the State of Qatar comparing to the International best practices, taking into account the social and legislative environment of the State of Qatar, in cooperation and coordination with the sub-group composed of a number of relevant bodies.​

The Project Aims At The Following:

  • Pro​moting the integrity and responsiveness to the knowledge society.
  • Establishing clear rules for the disclosure of information by various state agencies to facilitate the recipients of the service and raise the level of performance in the governmental sector.
  • Facilitate the follow-up of decisions and programs to different state agencies.
  • Contribute to improving the investment climate, and access to accurate and up-to-date information is important for any investor to identify investment factors.
Meeting the obligations of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
​Through this project, the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority seeks to strengthen Qatar’s position at the regional and international levels as a leading model in its legislative structure in keeping with the highest international standards of transparency.​
