The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority in cooperation with the Police Training Institute, organized a comprehensive course on transparency and integrity in tenders and auctions for the employees of the Ministry of Interior, in order to enhance their abilities, knowledge and skills in implementing concepts and standards of integrity and transparency.

The training program lasted for five days, during the period from 6 to 10 of October, with the participation of a number of legal experts, experts on tenders and auctions, members of the tenders and auctions committees and members of the internal control and audit departments.

Through this training program, participants learned about the concepts of corruption, transparency and integrity, the seriousness of corruption in tenders and auctions and the general theory of administrative contracts and their relationship to tenders and auctions. The program also included standards of integrity and transparency for all stages of government contracts, from the preparation stage to the implementation stage. Also, the program addressed security, economic and social considerations in tenders and auctions and their relationship to integrity and transparency.

Furthermore, ACTA stated that this training program comes within the framework of the development plan, adopted by the Authority to enhance the abilities of public officials, raise their efficiency and acquire knowledge that enhances their scientific and practical abilities in the areas of integrity, transparency and prevention of corruption.

ACTA also stated that the training program’s theme “Transparency and Integrity in Tenders and Auctions” stems from our deep belief in the need to consolidate these concepts, and also comes from our constant endeavor to improve the levels of training in the areas of integrity and transparency, which puts an obligation on us to provide all that is possible, to ensure that training achieves its desired objectives.

The training program concluded with a group discussion to determine the benefits of the program and evaluate it. The certificates were then handed over to all participants and distributed by Major/ Ali Saud Al-Henzab, Director of the Police Training Institute, and by Mr. Ibrahim Ali Abdullah, Public Relations and Communication Director of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority.

ACTA stressed that this training program will not be the last but is the first in a series of training initiatives, which will be implemented in the future, in cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the Institute, to upgrade the levels of public sector workers through the provision of world-class training, which contributes to building an important pillar of Qatar 2030 Vision represented in human development.
